Asus 27 Inch Led Monitor Review

Asus 27 Inch Led Monitor Review Going beyond the essentials, the 27” VE278H Full HD LED monitor delivers ultra-smooth visual playback and features easy-to-use controls to make what you do look amazing. What’s more, this monitor comes with the two built-in HDMI ports to connect multiple PCs, game consoles, and other devices as well as built-in speakers for clutter-free sound.
Asus 27 Inch Led Monitor ReviewWe purchased two ASUS VE278H monitors in November and absolutely love them. But, getting rebates is something else. I've been blaming ASUS all along for rebate being declined. As it turns out, the rebate form available for downloading from Amazon, Offer Code ASU-11790, is incorrect -- it should be Offer Code ASU-11761. It turns out to be a problem with Amazon, not ASUS. Anyone expecting to receive a rebate is out of luck. I am out of luck because ASUS wants me to resubmit the correct documentation by December 14. They already have the required original UPC labels, so I have nothing to send them.

This monitor seems to be manufactured by different companies even though they have the same ASUS branding and model number. I ordered two of these monitors and one had the colors spot on with those on my laptop display while the other had washed out colors and reds appeared orange. I couldn't fix the washed out colors with any of the settings provided by the monitor nor manually changing the RGB parameters on the monitor and my NVIDIA settings. I promptly decided I couldn't deal with that and I returned the monitor with the washed out colors and received another one without any hassle. Amazon was great at sending me another monitor as fast as possible without any gimmicks. The two monitors I have now are great and colors are the same. I noted differences between the two monitors with the same model number. I will describe the good monitor first and the bad monitor second. The images will also be in the same order.

Acer Q226hql BBD 21.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Widescreen Display Specs I purchased this monitor to upgrade my old VGA display. (1360x768). I myself am a very serious pc gamer and find it a requirement to have the best display for the game so it may be played how it is meant to be played. I find that this monitor is perfect for the job. (Just a note 1080p looks better the smaller the screen goes so buying a 32 inch 1080p TV may look different)

Pros
-Colors are Brilliant - The black levels on this screen are incredible. Everything is clearly defined. (Tested with same games as below)
-NO GHOSTING - (Running DVI-D) I've played starcraft II, WarZ, Arma II, Left 4 Dead, Crysis, and few other games and have seen absolutely no ghosting of the image whatsoever.
-Very low power consumption. This is the first monitor i've seen to have an external transformer(odd)
-Very slim and sleek design.
-Settings easily changeable
-The ports that the DVI-D and the VGA cables plug in are actually stable compared to other monitors that seem to be very very loose
-Responds almost instantly when the computer comes out of sleep.
-Many integrated settings to save power although it will distort the amazing colors when enabled.(Eco-Friendly)
-ALL packaging material is recyclable.

Cons
-The stand isn't the greatest. It can be tightly screwed on but can only be moved on a tilt forward and backward. (Doesn't seem easy to move feels like you can break it)
-This isn't really bad but when you first turn on the monitor you will go blind. The brightness at maximum settings is painful to look at and needs to be turned down.
-DVI-D but DVI-I? The monitor is compatible with the DVI-D connection which I am currently using but it only comes with a DVI-I connector.
-The screen did have a rather large smudge in it when I opened the box but the padding protecting the screen was able to remove it with ease. (Not too bad but annoying)Acer Q226hql BBD 21.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Widescreen Display Specs

NOTE: The monitors packaging was a little odd but very protective. The monitor itself was surrounded in a thin padding to prevent scratching. Then it was harnessed by styrofoam to keep it sturdy inside its box. ( This is the odd part) Then that same box was placed inside another box after being surrounded in a layer of paper. I wouldn't worry about breaking the monitor over shipping its pretty darn safe.

Acer Chromebook 11.6-inch cb3-111-c670 Review

Acer Chromebook 11.6-inch cb3-111-c670 Review I usually don't write reviews yet I feel this deserves my time to write one. I was really excited to buy a chromebook after I spent a good amount of time researching them and watching other reviews on youtube, (something I like to do before I buy something). Just to give a very quick overview of what a chromebook is, which is easy to make simple: They are very light-weight laptops, running off a solid state drive (usually aruond 16gig or 32gig). Chrome OS is the light environment, which I fell in love with. No more of all the crap widows tries to sell. No more viruses, AND you can run Ubuntu or other light Linux dsitros along side Chrome OS with a simple key command to change. It is extremely easy and quick to install Linux, just by searching a tutorial on Youtube it took less than an hour. With Ubuntu running offline I can have access to LibreOffice Writer and all the amazing free applications Linux offers. Okay enough about Linux because I could brag about how much I love that too forever. I just want to add in that I absolutely love the direction Google is going with Chrome OS and how it is presented in the Chromebooks. I am very impressed. For the money spent, these are very well built machines inside and out.Acer Chromebook 11.6-inch cb3-111-c670 Review A lot of people reviewed the c720 as feeling a little cheap and I can’t say that about the cb3-111. I was looking at a C720 tonight at the store and it did feel somewhat cheaper feeling compared to this one. The keyboard just feels very nice to type with, has a nice subtle sound and the whole over feel of the acer in my lap is a wonderful experience. I really think this is the best technology device that I’ve ever bought for the price it is. I do everything on this thing!, (given that I am not a software writer or programer) Everytime I go on the google appstore I find something new that amazes me that I wouldn’t ever imagine I could do with it.
This particular model has only 2 gigs ram, and only 16 gig solid state drive, with expandable sd card reader. I would have liked to have a little more solid state space. I’ve come to accept the low space and gigs of ram. The processor is very good, (the new intel dual i3) which is what I think makes it do what it can do.
Acer Chromebook 11.6-inch cb3-111-c670 Review PROS: FAST!, Light weight, long battery, (over 8 hours), Nice feeling keyboard and trackpad, Anti-glare screen, and I think it just looks very good and stylish.
CONS: I can’t think of any cons except that you can’t store much on the only 16gig ssd.
FYI: Do not touch the screen, it is a nightmare for fingerprints. Keep clean with special cleaning cloths. Thats it….

Acer Chromebook 11.6-inch cb3-111-c670 Review Over all it is a really great experience to type on. I wish I had this in high-school. Very nice for research. Comfy to set in lap. Very fun to explore with. I will be buying another one when they come out with the bigger better series. AND I will def be checking out what else Acer has to offer. They are really showing innovation that is impressive.
